Helping you move to a responsible carbon future

Indigenous carbon farming

Canopy understands how to work with Aboriginal communities to develop their land's carbon potential. An example is "Fixing Our Country", a program designed by Canopy, funded by the Federal Government Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency and administered by Greening Australia SA on behalf of Canopy and the Aboriginal Foundation of South Australia. Through "Fixing Our Country" we covered the Government-approved ways to create carbon credits under the Carbon Farming Initiative and the Aboriginal Carbon Farming Initiative. Canopy assisted the Narrungar and Ngarrindjeri people to create the only Aboriginal carbon credits south of Alice Springs.

Listen to us describing the program in an interview on the ABC.
